The City of Colton has heretofore adopted major project DB <br />overall goals consisting. of utilizing disadvantaged businesses <br />in all aspects cer.tracti' to the maxiaum extent feasible and <br />cammitin3 itself to substantially increase disadvantaged busi- <br />nesses utilization. These goals further include insuring <br />that the City of Colton, its contractors and subcontractors, <br />which are recipients of Federal -aid funds, agree to provide <br />disadvantaged businesses with the maximum opportunity to <br />Participate in the performance of contracts and subcontracts <br />and a commitment by the City of Colton and all its contractors <br />and subcontractors to take all reasonable steps in accordance <br />with 49CFR23 to insure that disadvantaged businesses have <br />the maximum opportunity to compete and perform contracts. <br />2. The public may inspect the goals and a description of how they <br />were set at the Public works, Colton City Hall, City of Colton6;0 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California for a period of <br />30 days from the date that this notice is first published. <br />3. The U.S. Department of Transportation, and the City of Colton <br />W411 accept comments on the said goals for 45 days from the <br />date that this notice is first published and said comments <br />Shall be considered to be fcr informational. purposes only. <br />4. Ir. addition to the foregoing, interested disadvantaged and <br />majcrity contractor organizations, upon request, shall <br />receive a direct mailing of the complete program with a <br />request, that they provide written comments to the City of <br />Colton or, this program. <br />The overall goal for the City of Colton is IOS Disadvantaged Busi- <br />nesses. The percentage indicated covers the period between October <br />19 1991 and September 30, 1992,and are based upon the total project <br />cost of the forthcoming Federally -funded FAU project. <br />The City of Colton intends to achieve the annual overall goal by <br />contracting to a D80 construction service and specify in the <br />construction contract that DB electrical suppliers and subcontractors <br />be utilized and maximized to the fullest extent. <br />HELEN A.
