The Personnel Director/Acting Director is hereby <br />authorized to access summary criminal conviction history <br />information for employment purposes. <br />4. The Police Department shall receive all record check <br />information from the Department of Justice. <br />5. Fingerprint cards received that are stamped with a red <br />"no record" stamp will be filed by the Police Department and the <br />Personnel Director so notified. <br />6. Fingerprint cards returned with a rap sheet attached <br />containing criminal convictions shall be sealed in an envelope and <br />hand -carried to the Personnel Director or, in his or her absence, <br />to the acting Personnel Director. <br />7. The Personnel Director/Acting Director shall consult with <br />the Department Head and determine, based on the job description and <br />general understanding of the work requirements, if the violation(s) <br />are job related, and if it could impact the employee's ability to <br />perform effectively. <br />8. The Personnel Director/Acting Director shall notify the <br />appropriate department head and advise whether the prospective <br />employee is/is not acceptable for employment with the City. <br />9. All criminal conviction information shall be filed in a <br />confidential file in the Police Department. <br />10. Other than the Personnel Director/Acting Director, the <br />City Manager, City Attorney and Police Chief or his designee are <br />the only authorized city officials to have access to summary <br />criminal history information. <br />11.
