1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />231 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28. <br />beyond the expiration date of the MWD -SDG&E water supply agreement in the year <br />2033; and <br />WHEREAS the potential participants in the gas-fired combined cycle plant project <br />and the potential participants in other plant projects at the Blythe site will be dependent <br />upon a continued supply of water through -out the useful life of the plants, and it is <br />therefore deemed imperative that the MWD -SDG&E water supply agreement be amended <br />to extend the date for obtaining regulatory approval beyond the year 2000 and to extend <br />the term of the agreement beyond the year 2033; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Colton, California, that the City of Colton recommends and supports the making of an <br />amendment to the MWD -SDG&E water supply agreement eliminate the provision for <br />termination thereof if a first generating unit regulatory approval is not obtained by the year <br />2000 and to extend the term of the agreement to fifty years commencing on the date of <br />water usage at the Blythe site, or the year 2053, whichever occurs first in time. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Manager are <br />authorized and directed to cause certified copies of this Resolution to be delivered to the <br />members of the Boards of Directors of MWD and SDG&E and to encourage the members <br />to take all appropriate action necessary to make the amendment. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of November, 1993. <br />r <br />Frank A.
