R-118-93 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF HISTORICAL LANDMARKS <br />WITHIN THE CITY OF COLTON. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton has an Ordinance establishing rules and regulations <br />governing the designation and perpetration of historic and scenic properties (Ordinance No. <br />0-11-87); and <br />WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission did consider at a duly and <br />legally held public hearing the designation of the historic landmarks; and <br />WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission, having studied and <br />researched the said designations, recommends approval of said designations based on the findings <br />that the structures have significant character, interest, and value as part of the development and <br />heritage of the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, said properties to be designated are delineated as follows: <br />Landmark #36 Commercial Structure 1102 North 9th Street <br />Landmark #37 Residence 1088 North 9th Street <br />Landmark #38 Residence 611 North 4th Street <br />("Van Luven House") <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly and legally held by the City Council on November <br />16, 1993 on the aforesaid recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton <br />that, based on the above findings, the structure located at the aforementioned site is historically <br />significant and should be designated as a permanent historic property in the City of Colton. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of November, 1993. <br />ATTEST: <br />HELEN A.
