R-118-93 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF HISTORICAL LANDMARKS WITHIN THE CITY OF COLTON. WHEREAS, the City of Colton has an Ordinance establishing rules and regulations governing the designation and perpetration of historic and scenic properties (Ordinance No. 0-11-87); and WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission did consider at a duly and legally held public hearing the designation of the historic landmarks; and WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission, having studied and researched the said designations, recommends approval of said designations based on the findings that the structures have significant character, interest, and value as part of the development and heritage of the City of Colton; and WHEREAS, said properties to be designated are delineated as follows: Landmark #36 Commercial Structure 1102 North 9th Street Landmark #37 Residence 1088 North 9th Street Landmark #38 Residence 611 North 4th Street ("Van Luven House") WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly and legally held by the City Council on November 16, 1993 on the aforesaid recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton that, based on the above findings, the structure located at the aforementioned site is historically significant and should be designated as a permanent historic property in the City of Colton.
