R-121-93 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF CERTAIN CDBG <br />FUNDS IN CONNECTION WITH THE PAYMENT OF CERTAIN PLANNING, <br />ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE <br />COLTON COMMUNITY CENTER <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton, California (the "City"), is <br />a public body and a general law city organized and existing <br />pursuant to and under the laws of the State of California; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is pursuing the development of a <br />certain community center to be designated as the Colton Community <br />Center to be located within the City for the benefit of the <br />residents of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, in connection with the development of the Colton <br />Community Center (the "project"), the city council deems it <br />desirable to authorize the use of certain Community Development <br />Block Grant ("CDBG") funds to fund certain costs associated with <br />the planning, architectural and engineering aspects of the proposed <br />Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City deems it desirable to allocate One <br />Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) of available CDBG funds <br />to be used in connection with the development of the Project. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, <br />ORDER AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the <br />allocation of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) of CDBG <br />funds for the purposes of paying certain architectural, planning <br />and engineering costs associated with the construction of the <br />Project. <br />Section 2. The expenditure of CDBG funds shall only <br />occur upon the submission to the City of appropriate documentation <br />evidencing contractual obligations which have been or will be <br />entered into obligating the expenditure of funds in accord with all <br />applicable state and federal law and regulations. <br />Section 3. The City staff, in its sole discretion <br />shall have the authority to determine whether an expenditure is <br />appropriate and whether the documenting evidence is adequate to <br />support the expenditure. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect upon the <br />date of its adoption. <br />
