R- 08-94 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE <br />HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL <br />ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, <br />JUNE 7, 1994, FOR THE SUBMISSION TO <br />THE VOTERS A QUESTION RELATING TO <br />THE TERM OF OFFICE OF MAYOR AND <br />REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION WITH THE <br />COUNTY ELECTION. <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to <br />general cities in the State of California, a Special Municipal <br />Election shall be held on June 7, 1994; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to submit to the voters at <br />the election a question relating to the term of office of Mayor; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOL- <br />LOWS: <br />SECTION 1. That the City Council, pursuant to its right and <br />authority, does order submitted to the voters at the Special <br />Municipal Election the following question: <br />"Shall the term of office of <br />Mayor be four years?" <br />YES <br />NO <br />SECTION 2. That pursuant to the requirements of Section <br />23302 of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the <br />County of San Bernardino is hereby requested to consent and agree <br />to the consolidation of a Special Municipal Election with the <br />County Consolidated Election on Tuesday, June 7, 1994. <br />SECTION 3. That the County Election Department is autho- <br />rized to canvass the returns of the Special Municipal Election. <br />
