RESOLUTION NO. R- 116-95 <br />1 <br />2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF A <br />3 HISTORICAL LANDMARK WITHIN THE CITY OF COLTON <br />4 <br />5 WHEREAS, the City of Colton has an Ordinance establishing rules and <br />regulations governing the designation and perpetration of historic and scenic <br />6 <br />properties (Ordinance No. 0-11-87); and <br />7 WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission did consider at a <br />8 duly and legally held public hearing, the designation of the historic landmark; <br />9 and; <br />10 WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission, having studied and <br />11 researched the said designation, recommends approval of said designation <br />12 based on the finding that the structure has significant character, interest, and <br />13 value as part of the development and heritage of the City of Colton, and; <br />14 WHEREAS, said property to be designated is delineated as follows: <br />Landmark #45, Wilson School, 750 South 8th Street, Colton, CA; <br />15 WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly held by the City Council on <br />16 November 28, 1995, on the aforesaid recommendation of the Historic <br />17 Preservation Commission. <br />18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />19 of Colton that, based on the above findings, the structure located at the <br />20 aforementioned site is historically significant and should be designated as a <br />21 permanent historic property in the City of Colton. <br />22 PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 28th day of November, 1995. <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 Geo e V. ulp <br />Mayor <br />26 ATTEST: <br />27 <br />28 <br />Helen A.
