R-30-95 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON DESIGNATING THE COLTON POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT AS THE RESPONSIBLE LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THE <br />PROVISIONS OF SECTION 6404.5 OF THE CALIFORNIA <br />LABOR CODE (AB 13) <br />WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacated AB 13, a bill which adds <br />Section 6404.5 to the California Labor Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the provisions of AB 13 became effective on January 1, 1995; and <br />WHEREAS, the provisions added to the California Labor Code by AB 13 prohibit any employer <br />from knowingly or intentionally allowing, or any individual from engaging in the act of smoking <br />in specified places of employment, including restaurants; and <br />WHEREAS, AB 13 by its terms makes local law enforcment agencies designated by local <br />governing bodies responsible for enforcement of the provisions added by AB 13 to the California <br />Labor Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton wishes to designate the Colton Police <br />Department as the local law enforcement agency responsible for enforcement of the provisions <br />of Section 6404.5 of the California Labor Code as added by AB 13. <br />
