1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />the Agency is authorized to use the moneys in its Low and Moderate <br />Income Housing Fund to increase, improve, and preserve the supply <br />of low and moderate income housing within the territorial <br />jurisdiction of the Agency; and <br />WHEREAS, there is presently a shortage of low and moderate <br />income housing available at affordable housing cost to senior <br />citizens in the City and a consequent need to encourage the <br />construction of such rental units which shall be made available to <br />senior citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, although the Project shall not be located in a <br />redevelopment project area, the Project is situated in close <br />proximity to the Downtown Redevelopment Project Areas and is <br />situated within the territorial jurisdiction of the Agency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON: <br />Section 1. The Council hereby supports in concept the <br />Project, as described in the recitals, subject to such further <br />reports, studies, and documentation as shall be prepared and <br />submitted by the Developer to both the Planning Commission and <br />this City Council with regard to such other approvals or other <br />final actions as may be required of either the Planning Commission <br />or this City Council. This Council does not intend this <br />Resolution to be considered as a preliminary or final approval of <br />the Project including, but not limited to general plan amendments, <br />zone changes, conditional use permits, compliance with all <br />applicable environmental laws, rules and regulations, and any <br />other discretionary approvals as may be sought from the City with <br />respect to the Project. <br />-2- <br />
