R-89 -95 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON REGARDING ISTEA <br />FUNDING <br />WHEREAS, certain political events in the Congress of the United States have occurred <br />and are likely to continue to occur in the future that could alter the existing structure of funding <br />to local communities from the Intermodel Surface Transportation Efficiency Act ( "ISTEA"); <br />WHEREAS, any change in the method of funding under ISTEA could dramatically <br />reduce local control over funding of necessary for local projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is opposed to any change that would alter the current <br />allocation of resources procedures or that would change the Metropolitan Planning Organization <br />("MPO") in control of these funds from the current MPO which is SANBAG. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON HEREBY <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City of Colton urges the Congress of the United States to refrain from enacting any <br />law that will negatively change the allocation of funding under the Intermodel Surface <br />Transportation Efficiency Act ("ISTEA") or that would change the Metropolitan Planning <br />Organization ("MPO") for the City of Colton from the present MPO which is SANBAG. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of September 1995. <br />ATTEST: <br />Helen A.
