1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />211 <br />27 <br />as reasonable alternatives for such distribution of printed materials exists; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted Resolution R-92-96 in order to <br />address this issue; and <br />WHEREAS, certain individuals have expressed concern that the provisions of Resolution <br />R-92-96 are too restrictive; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is necessary to protect the health, <br />safety and general welfare of its citizens by appropriately regulating the use of City Buildings <br />by private individuals through the establishment of limited restrictions on the use of City <br />Buildings for the distribution of printed materials. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Resolution R-92-96 is hereby repealed in its entirety. <br />Section 2. The City Manager shall designate areas within City Buildings where <br />printed materials published by private or public entities or individuals may be displayed or <br />placed for distribution to the public without charge and shall so identify such areas by the <br />posting of a sign or signs to that effect. <br />Section 3. No printed materials not published by the City shall be placed or <br />displayed in City Buildings in areas other than those designated by the City Manager pursuant <br />to this Resolution. <br />Section 4. Nothing in this Resolution shall limit the right of any private <br />individual or organization to distribute or place for distribution on City -owned public property <br />2811 outside City Buildings any printed materials, nor shall anything in this Resolution limit or <br />
