R-111-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO AUTHORIZE THE INCREASE OF THE FY 2021/2022 FEDERAL ASSEST FORFEITURE BUDGET FOR TRAINING AND THE PURCHASE OF AN UNMARKED VEHICLE IN THE AMOUNT OF $60,000.00 WHEREAS, the Budget for the City of Colton for the Fiscal Year commencing July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022 was approved and adopted; and WHEREAS, the approved budget is in accordance with all applicable ordinances of the City of Colton and all applicable statutes of the State; and WHEREAS, currently the FY 21/22 Federal Asset Forfeiture Account has sufficient funds available for a vehicle purchase and law enforcement training; and WHEREAS, these funds are to be used by the police department to replace the current unmarked police vehicle assigned to the DEA Task Force and purchase one unmarked police vehicle, and related equipment and attend training related to asset forfeiture and narcotics investigations. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does resolve as follows: Section 1. Amend the FY2021/22 Budget to: 1. Appropriate $55,000 from fund balance in Asset Forfeiture Fund Automobile expenditure account #261-6070-6083-4910-0000-000 for the purchase of one unmarked police vehicle and all related equipment, including installation; and, 2. Appropriate $5,000 from fund balance in Asset Forfeiture Fund Federal Asset Forfeiture Education & Training expenditure account #261-6070-6083- 1160-0000-000 for training.
