I <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-114-21 <br />2 <br />3 <br />APPROVE AMENDMENT TO THE EMERGENCY CONTRACT IN <br />4 <br />ACCORDANCE WITH COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION §3.08.130(A) <br />5 <br />FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO T2 AT THE CENTURY SUBSTATION. <br />6 <br />7 <br />WHEREAS, on August 4, 2021 Century Substation Transformer No. 2 was vandalized <br />8 <br />by a stray bullet causing an oil leak, and the Transformer was de -energized; and <br />9 <br />WHEREAS, on August 18, 2021 Transformer No. 1 tripped off due to low oil level; and <br />10 <br />WHEREAS, the intermediate repair commenced on September 1, 2021; and <br />11 <br />WHEREAS, on September 7, 2021 the Colton City Council approved an emergency <br />12 <br />service agreement to weld and repair transformer No. 2 at the Century Substation; and <br />13 <br />WHEREAS, the approved intermediate repair work revealed that additional work and an <br />14 <br />amended agreement is required for the original work to be completed to allow the Transformer <br />15 <br />No. 2 to be re -energized and placed back into service; and <br />16 <br />WHEREAS, in compliance with the requirements in the City's Municipal Code, Section <br />17 <br />3.08.060(h), City Council must approve the additional emergency repair work of Transformer No <br />18 <br />2 at the Century Substation without a formal bid process. <br />19 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Colton City Council hereby <br />20 <br />rescinds resolution No. R-110-21 and authorizes the amended purchase order and additional <br />21 <br />emergency repairs of the Transformer No. 2 at the Century Substation by ABB Enterprise <br />22 <br />Software, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $165,240, which includes the originally approved <br />23 <br />$53,250 in emergency repairs. <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />23152,W20v2617662.1 <br />
