RESOLUTION NO. R-118-21 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ALLOWING THE SUBMISSION OF THE <br />CA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION -CONTINUED FUNDING APPLICATION (CDE- <br />CFA) FOR THE EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION DIVISION OF THE COMMUNITY <br />SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR FY 2022-23. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton, Early Childhood Education Division of the Community <br />Services Department holds one (1) California Department of Education (CDE) Contract, and <br />one (1) California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Contract, thus considered a CDE and <br />CUSS Funded Agency; and <br />WHEREAS, The ECE Division submits the "Continued Funding Application' (CFA) every <br />Fiscal Year to CDE, to renew the aforementioned CDE Contract. In all previous years, Council <br />Approval and a Resolution were not a requirement, nor part of the CFA Packet. The signatory <br />authority previously granted to the City Manager, who is the Executive Director of ECE, was <br />sufficient; and <br />WHEREAS, In FY 2022-23, the CFA requirements changed, and now Council Approval and <br />a Resolution are required with the CFA submission; and <br />WHEREAS, unlike prior years, CSPP contractors who apply for and are approved for <br />Continued Funding will not need to sign and return a CSPP contract to provide services for FY <br />2022-23. CSPP contractors who apply for and are approved for Continued Funding through the <br />CFA process will be automatically renewed in accordance with all applicable federal and state <br />laws, as well as all CSPP Funding Terms and Conditions and Program Requirements that will <br />be incorporated into the FY 2022-23 CSPP contract; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby resolve as follows: <br />Section 1: The staff report accompanying this Resolution is found to be true, adopted <br />as findings, and incorporated into this resolution. <br />Section 2: City approves the City Manager to sign the CA Department of Education - <br />Continued Funding Application for FY 2022-23. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21"day of D Cmber021. <br />IRA J Q ayor <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA R.
