RESOLUTION NO. R-118-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ALLOWING THE SUBMISSION OF THE CA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION -CONTINUED FUNDING APPLICATION (CDE- CFA) FOR THE EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION DIVISION OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR FY 2022-23. WHEREAS, the City of Colton, Early Childhood Education Division of the Community Services Department holds one (1) California Department of Education (CDE) Contract, and one (1) California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Contract, thus considered a CDE and CUSS Funded Agency; and WHEREAS, The ECE Division submits the "Continued Funding Application' (CFA) every Fiscal Year to CDE, to renew the aforementioned CDE Contract. In all previous years, Council Approval and a Resolution were not a requirement, nor part of the CFA Packet. The signatory authority previously granted to the City Manager, who is the Executive Director of ECE, was sufficient; and WHEREAS, In FY 2022-23, the CFA requirements changed, and now Council Approval and a Resolution are required with the CFA submission; and WHEREAS, unlike prior years, CSPP contractors who apply for and are approved for Continued Funding will not need to sign and return a CSPP contract to provide services for FY 2022-23. CSPP contractors who apply for and are approved for Continued Funding through the CFA process will be automatically renewed in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws, as well as all CSPP Funding Terms and Conditions and Program Requirements that will be incorporated into the FY 2022-23 CSPP contract; and NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1: The staff report accompanying this Resolution is found to be true, adopted as findings, and incorporated into this resolution. Section 2: City approves the City Manager to sign the CA Department of Education - Continued Funding Application for FY 2022-23. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21"day of D Cmber021.
