R- 113-97 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE 1997 EDISON-COLTON <br />RESTRUCTURING AGREEMENT <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is a general law city, duly organized and <br />existing under the laws of the State of California and situated in the County of San <br />Bernardino; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton Electric Utility has relied upon the Southern <br />California Edison Company, a California Corporation, for high-voltage transmission <br />service and ancillary services provided under the 1990 Integrated Operations <br />Agreement; and, <br />WHEREAS, State Assembly Bill 1890 establishes an Independent System <br />Operator that will assume operational control of the high-voltage transmission <br />facilities of Southern California Edison Company and the statewide ancillary <br />services market; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City and Southern California Edison Company have <br />reached tentative agreement on a 1997 Edison -Colton Restructuring Agreement <br />that will terminate the 1990 Integrated Operations Agreement and provide for the <br />City's transmission and ancillary services needs under the Integrated System <br />Operator. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Colton City Council <br />hereby approves and adopts the 1997 Edison -Colton Restructuring Agreement as <br />attached and made a part hereof . <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 4th day of November, 1997. <br />ATTEST: <br />Carolina Barrera, City Clerk <br />Karl Gaytan, Mayor <br />
