R-35-98 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO TO <br />COMMENCE STUDY OF THE COLTON LANDFILL AS AN ALTERNATIVE <br />LANDFILL EXPANSION SITE A <br />WHEREAS, the Colton Landfill is loca d within the <br />municipal boundaries of the City of Colto , and the Colton <br />Landfill is owned and operated e y of San Bernardino <br />through operating agreements wig a n ct operator; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board o Su s has adopted an Amendment <br />to the Partnership for Count Integrated Waste Management <br />Strategy which designated e olton Landfill for study as an <br />alternative landfill e s' site to the San Timoteo Landfill; <br />and <br />WEER t Cit of Colton desires to cooperate with the <br />County o an rn dino in the further study of the feasibility <br />of ex din Colton Landfill and in negotiating with the <br />County of ernardino for obtaining such mitigation measures <br />and i ct es as may be negotiated and agreed between the City <br />of Colto nd the County of San Bernardino; and <br />EREAS, the City of Colton and the County of San <br />Bnardino recognize that significant dollar amounts must be <br />xpended by the County of San Bernardino in obtaining <br />engineering studies, environmental reports and other financial <br />
