1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RVPUB\KSD\44318 <br />RESOLUTION NO. a-83-98 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON ADOPTING CRITERIA FOR GRANTING TOW TRUCK <br />FRANCHISES <br />WHEREAS, for the protection of health, safety and welfare the City of Colton ("City") <br />grants franchises to private tow truck operators to provide tow truck services within the boundaries <br />of the City to the City on an as needed basis; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 10.40 of the Colton Municipal Code, Towing Truck Franchises <br />for City Service, provides that the City shall grant tow truck franchises from time to time to the most <br />qualified tow truck operator responding to a notice inviting bids sent out by the Purchasing Office at <br />the direction of the Chief of Police; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 10.40 of the Colton Municipal Code provides that the City <br />Council shall adopt, by resolution, objective criteria which the Purchasing Office shall use to determine <br />who is the most qualified tow truck operator responding to a notice inviting bids. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Council hereby adopts the criteria and procedures, which shall be <br />known as the "Request for Qualifications," attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by <br />reference, for selecting the most qualified tow truck operator responding to a notice of request for <br />qualifications for a tow truck franchise with the City. The City Council hereby reserves the right to <br />amend the criteria and procedures set forth in this resolution as it deems necessary from time to time. <br />ATTEST: <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of August, 1998. <br />Karl E.
