1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />I-2 <br />NOTICE OF DISADVANTAGED <br />BUSINESS GOALS AND RIGHT <br />OF PUBLIC TO COMMENT <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN <br />TO THE PUBLIC THAT: <br />The City of Colton has heretofore adopted major project DB overall goals <br />consisting of utilizing disadvantaged businesses in all aspects contracting to <br />the maximum extent feasible and committing itself to substantially increase <br />disadvantaged businesses utilization. These goals further include insuring <br />that the City of Colton, its contractors and subcontractors, which are <br />recipients of Federal -aid funds, agree to provide disadvantaged businesses <br />with the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts <br />and subcon'ractors and a commitment by the City of Colton and all its <br />contractors and subcontractors to take all reasonable steps in accordance <br />with 49CFR23 to insure that disadvantaged businesses have the maximum <br />opportunity to compete and perform contracts. <br />The public may inspect the goals and a description of how they were set at <br />the Public Works Department, City of Colton, 655 North La Cadena Drive, <br />Colton, California for a period of 30 days from the date this notice is first <br />published. <br />The U.S. Department of Transportation and the City of Colton will accept <br />comments on said goals for 45 days from the date that this notice is fis:st <br />published and said comments shall be considered to be for informational <br />purposes only. <br />In addition to the foregoing, interested disadvantaged and majority contractor <br />organizations, upon request, shall receive a direct mailing of the complete <br />program with a request that they provide written comments to the City of <br />Colton on this program. <br />The overall goal for the City of Colton is 10% Disadvantaged Businesses. <br />The percentage indicated covers the period between October 1, 1998 and <br />September 30, 1999 and is based upon the total project cost of the forthcoming <br />Federally funded AF project. <br />The City of Colton intends to achieve the annual over-all goal by contracting to a <br />DS construction service and specify in the construction contract that DS electrical <br />suppliers and subcontractors be utilized and maximized to the fullest extent. <br />Carolina Barrera <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />
