R-110 -99 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON TO ADOPT A POSITION <br />OF SUPPORT FOR ALTERNATIVE B FOR THE <br />SAN TIMOTEO CREEK REACH 3B. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton City Council is in support of Alternative B for <br />the San Timoteo Creek Reach 3B. <br />WHEREAS, the Council supports Alternative B because it provides for: <br />1) Flood control protection for the citizens, City of Loma Linda, City of San <br />Bernardino, City of Colton and the San Bernardino County; and <br />2) Completion of this project which will eliminate the need for flood <br />insurance for property owners in the affected communities, thereby, <br />saving these citizens millions of dollars in flood insurance premiums; and <br />3) Maximum protection without impacting existing high quality habitat in <br />the upper reaches of this project; and <br />4) An opportunity to establish habitat in the basins; and <br />5) Preservation and enhances ground water recharge; and <br />6) Recreation, trails, and aesthetic treatment of the creek; and <br />7) An opportunity for property owners to develop their property; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing residents will not be assessed any fees for the benefits <br />of this Alternative B; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton City Council is in support of Resolution <br />No. R-110-99 <br />1 <br />
