R-28-01 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF <br />AN AUDIT COMMITTEE <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton (the "City") requires audit services for <br />citywide audits and other specialized audits from time to time; and <br />WHEREAS, under State law, the City may establish advisory <br />composed of less than a quorum of members of the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to establish an Audit Committee to assist the <br />Council in the process of selecting providers of audit services ("auditors") and evaluating <br />level of audit services provided to the City, including, but not limited to, evaluating audit <br />and other documents generated by selected auditors. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Council hereby establishes the Audit Committee as an <br />committee for the City of Colton for a period beginning upon the date of adoption of <br />resolution and ending on December 31, 2001. <br />2. The Audit Committee shall be comprised of two City <br />appointed by a majority vote of the Council. <br />3. The Audit Committee shall meet, when necessary, with one or more <br />following designated City staff members: City Manager, City Attorney and/or Finance Director. <br />4. The duties of the Audit Committee shall include, but not be limited <br />development of Request for Proposals ('RFPs") for audit services, evaluation of responses <br />RFPs for audit services, making recommendations to the City Council regarding selection <br />auditors, reviewing audit reports and other documents prepared for the City by selected auditc <br />and making recommendations to the City Council and City staff regarding any corrective act: <br />1 <br />
