R-43-01 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS <br />LIMIT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2001-02 <br />WHEREAS, the voters of California, on November 6, 1979, added Article XIII -B to the State <br />Constitution placing various limitations on the appropriations of the state and local governments, and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII -B provides that the appropriations limit for the fiscal year 2001-02 is <br />calculated by adjusting the base year appropriations of fiscal year 1978-79 for changes in the cost of <br />living and population; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton has complied with all the provisions of Article XIII -B in <br />determining the appropriations limit for fiscal year 2001-02 utilizing the City population index; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Colton must make the necessary determinations regarding the use of a <br />cost -of -living index change and the population index change beginning in 2001-02 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriations subject to limitation in <br />fiscal year 2001-02 shall be $36,387,038 for the City of Colton, and; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the fiscal year 2001-02, the City of Colton selects the <br />California percentage change in per capita income as its cost -of -living index change as determined by <br />the California State Department of Finance and that the City of Colton selects the population index <br />change for the City of Colton instead of the County, as a whole as its population index change. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this $th day of June, 2001. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA P.
