I RESOLUTION NO. R-49-01 <br />2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON FOR <br />ACCEPTANCE OF SBSX FUNDS AND MODIFICATION OF UTILITY'S <br />3 APPROPRIATION FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT EXPENDITURES <br />4 WHEREAS, approximately $40 Million in State funds have been made available for <br />5 Low -Income Public Benefits; and <br />6 <br />7 WHEREAS, the City of Colton's prorata share is $179,000 of these funds and the Utility <br />8 designs programs to create the best benefits to the citizens of Colton; and <br />9 WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the citizens of Colton to make use of <br />10 these funds to implement cost-effective conservation programs, namely Single -Family <br />1 1 Housing Low -Income Energy Audit, Single -Family Housing Low -Income HVAC Evaporative <br />12 Coolers, Multi -Family Complexes Low -Income Audit, Multi -Family Complexes Low -Income <br />13 HVAC Evaporative Coolers, and include a Commercial Lighting Rebate; and <br />14 <br />15 WHEREAS, implementation of these programs as described in 'Attachment A' and <br />16 Attachment B', which are made a part hereof, are aimed at replacement of inefficient <br />17 lighting with more efficient lighting sources and for taking actions to reduce energy use and <br />18 costs which are mutually beneficial to citizens and the Utility in the current energy situation; <br />19 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton hereby resolves to accept <br />20 funds from SB5X and make modification of Utility's appropriation ppropriation for Public Benefit <br />21 <br />Expenditures as described herein. <br />22 <br />23 PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 5th day of June, 2001. <br />24 .-86��_ <br />25 DEIRDRE H.
