R-131-21 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA <br />APPROVING TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE DRILLING OF WELL 32 AND 33 <br />PROJECT AND AMENDING THE FY2021-22 WATER UTILITY BUDGET IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $4,200,000 FOR THE PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the City's intends to construct new production well as identified in the <br />City's 2016 Water Master Plan to meet the City's anticipated water demand over the next ten to <br />twenty years; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's existing three (3) wells including Well 13, 16 and 26 located in <br />Western Pressure Zone was removed from service and was abandoned this year due to significant <br />water quality issues and/or significant loss of production capability; and <br />WHEREAS, in July 30, 2021 the City solicited Requests for Formal Bid for the Drilling <br />of Well 32 and 33 Project for the proposed two (2) additional wells; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Colton City Council hereby awards <br />a contract to Layne Christensen Company in an amount of $3,946,180.00 for the drilling of Well <br />32 and 33 Project; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves the use of reserve <br />balance for the project and hereby amends the FY2021-22 budget to increase appropriations in <br />Water Fund Capital Improvement Account Number 521-8100-8105-3890-0000-000 by <br />$4,200,000. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 21s" DAY OF D CTMBER, 2021. <br />JA A A RR O, MAYOR <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA R.
