R-75-22. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON APPROVING AND ADOPTING A RESOLUTION TO <br />APPROVE AMENDMENT NO. 8 OF THE WASTE DISPOSAL <br />AGREEMENT 9WDAj WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN <br />BERNARDINO <br />WHEREAS, beginning in May 1998 the City of Colton and. the County of Safi <br />.Bernardino entered. into a Waste Disposal Agreement for the disposal of Municipal Solid Waste <br />collected from the City's residences and businesses.. The parties previously entered into. seven <br />other Amendments; and <br />WHEREAS, the City collects and disposes of, by of CR&R, approximately 44,000 <br />tons of material to landfill every year. This. agreement has.been beneficial to the City as :it allows <br />us to know what our solid waste disposal costs will be. year over year, as: well as providing a <br />reliable local facility to dispose of.solid waste.to; and <br />WHEREAS, the current rate of`$3 8.00 per ton was adopted at the May 18, 2021., meeting <br />under Resolution R-57-21; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties have..determined. it is in their best interests to reset. the WDA <br />Contract Rate to..$40.75 per ton, effective July 1., 2022, adjusted annually according to the WDA.. <br />NOW, THEREFORE,.
