RESOLUTION NO. R-43-02 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 3 COLTON, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 5, 2002, 4 DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER PROVISIONS OF LAW. 5 6 Whereas, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Colton, 7 California on Tuesday, March 5, 2002, as required by law; and g Whereas, notice of the Election was duly given in the time, form and manner as provic 9 1 by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed 10 that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and 11 canvassed and the returns made and declared in the time, form and manner as required by the 12 provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in 13 14 law cities; and 15 Whereas, pursuant to Resolution No. R-102-01 adopted October 16, 2001 and 16 11 Resolution No. R-110-01 adopted November 6, 2001 the County Registrar of Voters ca 17 11 the returns of the elections and has certified the results to this City Council, the results are 18 11 received, attached and made part hereof as Exhibit "A." 19 If NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, 20 11 DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: 21 SECTION 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in the City as to the Special 22 Municipal Election for Councilmember/District 1 to be elected to fill the unexpired term of the 23 former incumbent, except absent voter ballots, was 393. 11 That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in the City was 87, making a total of 24 480 ballots cast in the City. 25 11 SECTION 2.
