<br /> <br />ITEM NO. 1 <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 6, 2022 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: BILL SMITH, CITY MANAGER <br />PREPARED BY: BRIAN DICKINSON, PUBLIC WORKS AND UTILITY SERVICES <br />DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: TIME AND PLACE FIXED TO CONSIDER A PUBLIC HEARING TO <br />APPROVE AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, CONDITIONALLY VACATING <br />PORTIONS OF SOUTH TERRACE AVENUE AND DE BEERY <br />STREET, RESOLUTION NO. R-94-22. <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action: <br /> <br />Continue the Public Hearing to Adopt a Resolution Conditionally Vacating Certain Portions of <br />South Terrace Avenue and De Berry Street, in connection with the Barton Road Logistics project <br />(DAP No. 001-602), including a determination that such vacation is consistent with the City’s <br />General Plan until October 04, 2022. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City is working with the applicant on finalizing the legal descriptions and plot plans for the <br />new proposed utility easements required as part of the right-of-way vacation areas on portions of <br />Terrace Avenue and De Berry Street. <br /> <br />ISSUES/ANALYSIS <br /> <br />To best address new utility easements required as part of the right-of-way vacation areas of <br />portion of Terrace Avenue and De Berry Street, and to reserve utility easements on existing <br />utility locations, City staff recommends keeping the Public Hearing open until a hearing date set <br />for October 04, 2022, at which time the City Council will hear any public comments on the <br />1.1 <br />Packet Pg. 7
