R-55-02 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R-40-96 AS IT <br />PERTAINS TO THE ALLOCATION OF FIREWORKS LICENSES FOR <br />CIVIC NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton approved Resolution R-40-96 on April 16, <br />1996; and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution R40-96 establishes an approved list of <br />organizations entitled to be issued a license to operate a fireworks booth and to <br />sell fireworks within the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, this Resolution shall remain in effect until further action by <br />resolution of the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the organization known as the Catholic War Vets is no longer <br />eligible under the provisions of Ordinance No. 0-08-96; and <br />WHEREAS, representatives of all the approved Civic Non -Profit <br />Organizations met on May 1, 2002 to recommend the filling of the vacated spot; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #6476 has been <br />recommended to the fireworks committee established pursuant to Section 6.32.070 <br />of the Municipal Code to participate in the sharing of a fireworks booth; and <br />WHEREAS, an application was received from the Veteran of Foreign Wars, <br />Post #6476 and reviewed and found to be in compliance with the provisions of <br />Ordinance No. 0-08-96 and is hereby recommended for inclusion by the fire works <br />committee. <br />I <br />
