R-126-22 <br /> 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ALLOWING THE SUBMISSION OF THE <br /> 4 CA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION-CONTINUED FUNDING APPLICATION(CDE- <br /> CFA)FOR THE EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION DIVISION OF THE COMMUNITY <br /> 5 SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR FY 23-24 <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the City of Colton, Early Childhood Education Division of the Community <br /> Services Department holds one (1) California Department of Education (CDE) Contract, and <br /> 7 one (1) California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Contract,thus considered a CDE and <br /> 8 CDSS Funded Agency; and, <br /> 9 WHEREAS, each fiscal year a "Continued Funding Application" (CFA) is submitted to <br /> CDE, to renew the CDE Contract. In previous years, Board Approval and a Resolution were <br /> 10 not requirements,nor part of the CFA Packet. The signatory authority previously granted to the <br /> City Manager, who is the Executive Director of ECE, was sufficient: and, <br /> 11 <br /> WHEREAS, In FY 23-24 the CFA requirements are changing, requiring Board Approval <br /> 12 and a Resolution with the CFA submission; and, <br /> 13 WHEREAS, similar to FY 22-23. CSPP contractors who apply for and are approved for <br /> Continued Funding will not need to sign and return a CSPP contract to provide services for FY <br /> 14 2023-24. CSPP contractors who apply for and are approved for Continued Funding through the <br /> CFA process will be automatically renewed in accordance with all applicable federal and state <br /> 15 laws, as well as all CSPP Funding Terms and Conditions and Program Requirements that will <br /> be incorporated into the FY 2023-24 CSPP contract. <br /> 16 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED, AND ORDERED BY THE <br /> 17 CITY COUNCIL,AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 18 Section 1: The staff report accompanying this resolution is found to be true, adopted as <br /> findings, and incorporated into this resolution. <br /> 19 <br /> Section 2: The City Manager, as Executive Director of the program,-is hereby authorized to <br /> 20 sign�plicable documents on behalf of the City to execute this contract. <br /> 21 <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 6th DAY F DEC BER 2022. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 <br /> 24 <br /> 25 ayo <br /> 26 ATT ` ' /J et <br /> 27 /�ictt�/ <br /> CAROLINA R.
