1 RESOLUTION NO. R-124-22 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> 4 - MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH THE <br /> CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TAX AND FEE <br /> 5 ADMINISTRATION FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF A LOCAL <br /> 6 TRANSACTIONS AND USE TAX. <br /> 7 WHEREAS, on November 8, 2022, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 0-08-22, <br /> amending the City Municipal Code and providing for a local transactions and use tax; and <br /> 8 WHEREAS, the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (Department) <br /> administers and collects the transactions and use taxes for all applicable jurisdictions within the <br /> 9 state; and <br /> 10 WHEREAS,the Department will be responsible to administer and collect the transactions <br /> and use tax for the City; and <br /> 11 WHEREAS, the Department requires that the City enter into a "Preparatory Agreement" <br /> and an"Administration Agreement"prior to implementation of said taxes; and <br /> 12 WHEREAS,the Department requires that the City Council authorize the agreements; <br /> 13 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br /> 14 HEREBY RESOLVE,DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 15 SECTION 1. The"Preparatory Agreement"attached as Exhibit A and the"Administrative <br /> 16 Agreement" attached as Exhibit B are hereby approved and the City Manager is hereby authorized <br /> to execute each agreement. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of December, '02 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 JtS (Iiit 1 1 .
