<br /> <br />ITEM NO. 1 <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: DECEMBER 20, 2022 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: BILL SMITH, CITY MANAGER <br />PREPARED BY: BRIAN DICKINSON, PUBLIC WORKS AND UTILITY SERVICES <br />DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: APPROVE AND ADOPT RESOLUTION TO APPROVE SOLID <br />WASTE RATE ADJUSTMENT TO THE AMENDED AND RESTATED <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF COLTON AND REPUBLIC <br />SERVICES AS ASSIGNED TO CR&R INCORPORATED FOR <br />COLLECTION OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE, RESOLUTION NO. <br />R-130-22. <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action: <br /> <br />1. Open Public Hearing to receive public comments on the proposed rate increases and the <br />First Amendment to Amended and Restated Agreement Between the City of Colton and <br />CR&R, Inc. for the Collection of Municipal Solid Waste. <br /> <br />2. Close the Public Hearing after all public comments have been heard, and determine if <br />written protests have been received from the owners/tenants of a majority of parcels <br />which are subject to the solid waste service rate increases, and, if a majority protest is not <br />received, and adopt a Resolution entitled, “A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING RATES FOR SOLID <br />WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES, APPROVING FIRST AMENDMENT TO <br />AMENDED AND RESTATED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AND CR&R, INC.
