1 ORDINANCE NO. 0-04-23 <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br /> 3 AMENDING SECTION 10.04.109 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO <br /> INCLUDE TRUCK WEIGHT LIMIT SIGNS ON VARIOUS CITY STREETS <br /> 4 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton ("City") desires to improve the safety of <br /> 5 the streets and traffic circulation within City jurisdiction; and <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code ("CVC") requires that the legislative body of any <br /> 7 county or city may by ordinance permit the operation and moving of vehicles and loads upon <br /> highways under their respective jurisdictions of a maximum gross weight in excess of the <br /> 8 maximum gross weight of vehicles and loads specified in this code; and <br /> 9 WHEREAS, the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices ("MUTCD"), the No <br /> Trucks (R-5) signs is used together with a Truck Exclusion plaque (R20D(CA) Series); and <br /> 10 <br /> WHEREAS, on the March 08, 2023 meeting, the City Traffic Safety Committee reviewed <br /> t 1 and recommended for approval a list of locations/street intersections where truck weight limit <br /> 12 signs could be installed; and <br /> 13 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED, AND ORDERED BY THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 14 <br /> Section 1 Section 10.04.109 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to add <br /> 15 subsection (c) as follows: <br /> Chapter 10.04— UNIFORM TRAFFIC ORDINANCE <br /> 16 <br /> 10.04.109 -Section 12.4 of Article XII amended—Commercial Vehicles prohibited from <br /> 17 <br /> using certain Streets. <br /> 18 <br /> Article XII, Section 12.4 of the Uniform Traffic Ordinance is amended to read as follows: <br /> 19 <br /> Section 12.4 Commercial Vehicles prohibited from using certain Streets. <br /> 20 <br /> (a)... <br /> 21 (b)... <br /> (c) Establishing valid posted combination of R5-2 and R20D-1(CA) signs on the following <br /> 22 street intersections: <br /> 23 1. Johnston Avenue at Pennsylvania Avenue, facing westbound traffic <br /> 24 2. Citrus Street at Pennsylvania Avenue, facing westbound traffic <br /> 3. Laurel Street at Pennsylvania Avenue, facing westbound traffic <br /> 25 4. Olive Street at Pennsylvania Avenue, facing westbound traffic <br /> 5. Johnston Avenue at Rancho Avenue, facing eastbound traffic <br /> 26 6. Citrus Street at Rancho Avenue, facing eastbound traffic <br /> 7. Laurel Street at Rancho Avenue, facing eastbound traffic <br /> 27 8. Olive Street at Rancho Avenue, facing eastbound traffic <br /> 28 9. Hert Street at Rancho Avenue, facing westbound traffic <br />
