RESOLUTION NO.R-87-23 <br /> 1 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> 2 AMENDING THE FY 2023-2024 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE$400,000 FOR THE <br /> OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT OF HERMOSA GARDENS CEMETERY <br /> 3 <br /> WHEREAS,The City of Colton owns Hermosa Gardens Cemetery,a municipal cemetery located at <br /> 4 900 North Meridian Avenue and until 1999, operated and managed the cemetery directly. In 2000,the <br /> City entered into an agreement with Inland Memorial, Incorporated ("Inland"), for the operation of <br /> 5 Hermosa Gardens Cemetery. In March, 2023, Inland was sold and the lease agreement was not <br /> 6 transferred to the new owner,who agreed to a short-term management contract and then provided notice <br /> to end the agreement early; and, <br /> 7 WHEREAS,Effective October 1,2023,the City of Colton will assume operations and management <br /> of Hermosa Gardens Cemetery; and, <br /> 8 <br /> WHEREAS,the budget for Fiscal year 2023/2024 has been approved by City Council and must now <br /> 9 be amended to include an appropriation for the maintenance,operations,and other related enhancements <br /> at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery through this fiscal year.Revenue sources include sales,rentals, and pre- <br /> 10 need payments. <br /> 11 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 12 <br /> Section 1.
