1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO.R-100-23 <br /> 2 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br /> 3 ADOPTING A REVISED PAID SICK LEAVE POLICY FOR PART- <br /> 4 TIME EMPLOYEES <br /> 5 WHEREAS, on October 04,2023 the Governor of the State of California signed Senate Bill No. <br /> 6 616 (SB 616), an amendment to the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 which <br /> sets a statewide minimum standard for Paid Sick Leave for par-time employees effective, and: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 WHEREAS,the paid sick leave provisions are to take effect January 1, 2024, and; <br /> 9 <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Colton wishes to establish a paid sick leave policy pursuant to SB 616 <br /> 10 for part-time employees, and; <br /> 11 <br /> 12 WHEREAS, part-time employees of the City are not covered by an existing memorandum of <br /> understanding, benefits,resolution or benefits policy, and; <br /> 13 <br /> 14 WHEREAS, SB 616 allows the City to establish the accrual method and minimum usage <br /> increment for paid sick leave; <br /> 15 <br /> 16 NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby <br /> authorize the revision of Administrative Policy 4.05.432, a paid sick leave policy for its part- <br /> 17 time employees, which reflects the directive of SB 616. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 PASSED,APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 5th DAY OF C BER 2023. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 <br /> 22 .NAVARRO <br /> Mayor <br /> 23 <br /> 24 ATTEST: <br /> 25 144 <br /> 26 <br /> STEPHANIE M.
