sy <br />City Council Meeting of March 6, 2001 <br />Reprogramming of CDBG Funds <br />Page 2 <br />The Public Works Department has indicated that the two previously approved CDBG <br />street improvement projects will be processed to solicit bids within the next two months. <br />However, due to an increase in construction materials and revised engineer's <br />estimates, the additional $115,000 of CDBG funds is required in order to cover <br />anticipated increased constructions costs. <br />Should the Council choose to approve the reprogramming request for the three <br />referenced projects, there would be a balance of $28,689.84 remaining in the City's <br />Contingency/Unprogrammed Funds Account. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />The Council can chose not to reprogram funds to any of the projects, and maintain the <br />full amount of $226,089.84 in the City's Contingency Account for possible future <br />reprogramming. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There is no impact to the City General Fund. The requested action pertains to <br />uncommitted federal CDBG funds in the City's Contingency/Unprogrammed Funds <br />Account. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />There is no environmental impact for the requested action. <br />LEGAL REVIEW: <br />ity Attorney <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the reprogramming of $197,400 of <br />CDBG funds from the "Colton , Contingency/Unprogrammed Funds Account" to the <br />following activities: $82,400 to "Child Care Modular Unit -Wilson Elementary School," <br />$40,000 to "Street Improvements -Walters, Monroe, Vermont, Fur, Penn and Miller <br />Streets, #104-25205" and $75,000 to "Sidewalk Improvements -Shasta Drive, Illinois <br />and Western Avenues, #104-26105"; authorize the Finance Director to adjust the City <br />Budget accordingly; and adopt the attached Resolution approving the requested <br />reprogramming action. <br />DRZ/ALS/wdm <br />Attachment: Resolution <br />
