Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, an international <br />organization of college and professional men, was organized in <br />1914 at Howard University. The Organization has three basic <br />principles: Brotherhood, Service and Scholarship. The principles <br />are clearly expressed in the Fraternity's motto- "Culture for Service <br />and Service for Humanity." <br />Phi Beta Sigma, being concerned about the ever changing <br />needs of our communities, is involved in the promotion of programs <br />related to bringing about social change, encouraging better business, <br />and promoting and demanding quality education for our youth. <br />Realizing that today's youth will be the ones that shall effectively <br />bring about change, Phi Beta Sigma, under the leadership of Dr. <br />Parlett L. Moore, launched a national youth group originally called <br />the Beta Club, an integral part of the educational mission of Phi <br />Beta Sigma. <br />The Phi Beta Club is an essential part of the total <br />organizational structure of Phi Beta Sigma. It offers young women a <br />unique opportunity to develop wholesome value, leadership skills, <br />social and cultural awareness of youth at a most critical state in their <br />personal development. <br />Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity's interest in fostering the <br />development of today's youth in to effective leaders of tomorrow <br />can be realized in the establishment of a strong, productive Phi <br />Beta Club. <br />
