Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, an international
organization of college and professional men, was organized in
1914 at Howard University. The Organization has three basic
principles: Brotherhood, Service and Scholarship. The principles
are clearly expressed in the Fraternity's motto- "Culture for Service
and Service for Humanity."
Phi Beta Sigma, being concerned about the ever changing
needs of our communities, is involved in the promotion of programs
related to bringing about social change, encouraging better business,
and promoting and demanding quality education for our youth.
Realizing that today's youth will be the ones that shall effectively
bring about change, Phi Beta Sigma, under the leadership of Dr.
Parlett L. Moore, launched a national youth group originally called
the Beta Club, an integral part of the educational mission of Phi
Beta Sigma.
The Phi Beta Club is an essential part of the total
organizational structure of Phi Beta Sigma. It offers young women a
unique opportunity to develop wholesome value, leadership skills,
social and cultural awareness of youth at a most critical state in their
personal development.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity's interest in fostering the
development of today's youth in to effective leaders of tomorrow
can be realized in the establishment of a strong, productive Phi
Beta Club.
