Page 2 <br />The amicus brief will reject the Ninth Circuit Court's unjustified expansion of the definition <br />of excessive force. We believe that the success of this brief and a favorable outcome for <br />Solano County will be of great importance to the City of Colton. Therefore we urge the <br />City Council to authorize the City's participation in the amicus curiae brief in the matter of <br />Robinson v. Solano County. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />Direct the City Attorney to advise the County of Solano to list the City of Colton as <br />a supporter of the amicus curiae brief. <br />2.
