1 RESOLUTION NO. 2461 <br /> 2 <br /> WHEREAS, the expansion of the San Bernardino Freeway through the <br /> 3 <br /> City of Colton to eight lanes necessitates a re-design of on and off facilities; <br /> 4 <br /> and <br /> 5 <br /> WHEREAS,. it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Colton <br /> 6 <br /> that the present design stage of such contemplated expansion is the proper <br /> time to consider new on and off traffic needs to and from said freeway; and <br /> 8 <br /> WHEREAS, Colton has adopted a Redevelopment Plan in an area <br /> 9 <br /> contiguous in part to said freeway; and <br /> 10 <br /> WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to maximize the accessibility to <br /> 11 <br /> and facilitate the movement of traffic from said Redevelopment area; and <br /> 12 <br /> WHEREAS, a direct entry into the area from the San Bernardino <br /> 13 <br /> Freeway (Interstate 10) is vital to serve such area; and further <br /> 14 <br /> WHEREAS, adequate traffic circulation in down town Colton requires <br /> 15 <br /> ingress and egress to and from said freeway; <br /> 16 <br /> NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved and it is hereby recommended that <br /> 17 <br /> an on-ramp (east-bound) and off-ramp (west-bound) be established at 9th <br /> 18 <br /> Street in the City of Colton, and that the same be added to the new eight lane <br /> 19 <br /> design recently authorized by the State Division of Highways and the Federal <br /> 20 <br /> Bureau of Public Roads. <br /> 21 <br /> PASSED,.
