1 RESOLUTION NO. 2497 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF COLTON, CONGRATULATING THE 1964 COLTON <br /> 4 MEXICAN FIESTA COMMITTEE ON THE RECENT <br /> CELEBRATION OF THE 154TH ANNIVERSARY OF <br /> 5 MEXICO'S INDEPENDENCE. <br /> 6 <br /> WHEREAS, on September 11, 12 and 13, the residents of Colton celebrated <br /> 7 <br /> the 154th Anniversary of Mexico's Independence; and <br /> 8 <br /> WHEREAS, this occasion is celebrated annually to commemorate the <br /> 9 <br /> historical makings that gave Mexico her independence on the morning of September <br /> 10 <br /> 16, 1810; and <br /> 11 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Colton, with deep respect, recognizes the friendli- <br /> 12 <br /> ness, peace and mutual cooperation that exists between the United States and <br /> 13 <br /> Mexico; and <br /> 14 <br /> WHEREAS, the celebration of this happy occasion was accomplished by the <br /> 15 <br /> united efforts of the Congress of Community Clubs, the United Mexican Workers <br /> 16 <br /> Association, the Sociedad Progresista Mexicana, and the many individuals whose <br /> 17 <br /> hard work made the Fiesta a huge success; <br /> 18 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton: <br /> 19 <br /> That the Council hereby congratulates the 1964 Colton Mexican Fiesta <br /> 20 <br /> Committee on their outstanding celebration. <br /> 21 <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to <br /> 22 <br /> the 1964 Colton Mexican Fiesta Committee. <br /> 23 <br /> PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15th day of September 1964. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 <br /> 26 am r <br /> 27 JOHN M.
