1 RESOLUTION NO. 2488 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON. 3 WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Airways Inc. , engages in the air trans- 4 portation of persons, property and mail with suitable aircraft between any 5 point within a 50 mile radius from the Post Office Terminal Annex Building in 6 Los Angeles, California and San Bernardino, California; and 7 WHEREAS, by reason of the limited extent of, and the unusual circum- 8 stances affecting the operations of Los Angeles Airways, Inc„ Service, it 9 would clearly be an undue burden on the carrier and contrary to the public 10 interest to require the carrier to go through certificate amendment proceedings 111 each time it wishes authority to serve new points in the Los Angeles area or 12 to vary its flight pattern as experience might indicate; and 13 WHEREAS, there is a need for helicopter service in the San Bernardino 14 area to be served by exemption authority, because in the year 1963 the Los 15 Angeles Airways, Inc„ carried 3979 passengers, 478, 701 pounds of mail and 16 213, 716 pounds of express to or from the San Bernardino Heliport--most of which 17 would not have been carried had not the exemption authority been in effect; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City 19 ! of Colton that said City, by and through its governing representatives does 20 hereby request the Civil Aeronautics Board to grant the application for exemp- 21 tion authority to the Los Angeles Airways,Inc„ for service to and from the 22 San Bernardino area on behalf of the public interest. 23 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by 24 the City Council of the City of Colton at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 25 21st day of July, 1964. 26 27 �Ci��C,�erk � ti-� _._ c .... _� 28 I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution this 22nd day of July, 1964. 29 30 Of% 47'- C. ayor of the City of olton 31 32
