1 RESOLUTION NO. 2560 <br /> 2 i A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF COLTON ORDERING AN AMENDMENT TO <br /> 3 RESOLUTION NO. C.L-1:J AND AMENDMENTS THERE- <br /> TO ESTABLISHING PAY RANGE B CLASSIFICATIJN. <br /> 4 <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton that <br /> 5 <br /> Resolution No„ 2484 be amended to include the following classification to <br /> 6 <br /> be designated Water Superintendent. <br /> 7 <br /> WATER SUPERINTENDENT <br /> 8 JOB DEFINITION: <br /> 9 <br /> Under direction of the Public Works Director, to direct the operation, <br /> 10 <br /> construction and maintenance of the City Water system; to determine main- <br /> 11 <br /> tenance and construction needs; to supervise assigned office, plant and outside <br /> 12 <br /> service personnel; and to do other work as required. <br /> 13 <br /> TYPICAL TASKS: <br /> 14 <br /> Plans, recommends and directs the construction and maintenance of <br /> 15 <br /> the water, plumbing, storage and distribution facilities; prepares and <br /> 16 <br /> recommends specifications for the water division; personally inspects major <br /> 17 <br /> construction on water projects; anticipates future water needs and makes <br /> 18 <br /> recommendations on changes required to meet the needs; recommends con- <br /> 19 <br /> struction contracts for the water division activities to the Director of Public <br /> 20 <br /> Works; investigates and takes action on complaints; and makes special reports, <br /> 21 <br /> EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: <br /> 22 <br /> Knowledge of: The accepted methods of installing and servicing of <br /> 23 <br /> water distribution system; pipe fitting and plumbing as applies to a water <br /> 24 <br /> system; the construction and operation of water wells and pumps; automatic <br /> 25 <br /> control system; public budget and municipal accountings office methods and <br /> 26 <br /> procedures; principles and practices of water hydraulics,, <br /> 27 <br /> Ability to: Direct and coordinate the work of the Division; advise <br /> 28 <br /> on water engineering and public works projects; prepare water engineering <br /> 29. <br /> reports; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relation- <br /> 30 <br /> ships within the Division, with other municipal officials and with the public, <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
