A 1 ORDINANCE NO. 0-13-02 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON 3 ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2001 EDITION OF THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS CODE (CALIFORNIA CODE OF 4 REGULATIONS, TITLE 24) INCORPORATING THE 2001 CALIFORNIA 5 BUILDING CODE, VOLUMES I AND II, THE 2001 CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE, THE 2001 CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE, THE 6 2001 CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL CODE, CERTAIN AMENDMENTS, ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS THERETO; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE 7 THE 1997 UNIFORM SIGN CODE, THE 1997 UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, THE 1997 UNIFORM 8 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, THE 2000 UNIFORM SWIMMING POOL, SPA 9 AND HOT TUB CODE, THE 1997 UNIFORM CODE FOR BUILDING CONSERVATION AND THE 1997 UNIFORM HOUSING CODE; 10 REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 0-11-99; 11 12 WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 50022 et seq. 13 authorizes the City to adopt by reference the California Building Standards Code 14 (California Code of Regulations, Title 24) adopting certain uniform codes, including the 15 2001 California Building Code ("CBC"), the 2001 California Mechanical Code ("CMC'), 16 the 2001 California Plumbing Code ("CPC'), and the 2001 California Electrical Code 17 ("CEC"), and authorizes the City to adopt other uniform codes including the 1997 18 19 Uniform Sign Code, the 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 20 the 1997 Uniform Administrative Code, the 2000 Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot 21 Tub Code, the 1997 Uniform Code for Building Conservation and the 1997 Uniform 22 Housing Code; and 23 24 WHEREAS, California Health & Safety Code Section 17958.5 authorizes 25 cities to adopt the California Building Standards Code with modifications determined to 26 27 be reasonably necessary because of local climatic, topographic or geologic conditions; 28 and . 1
