1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 611 <br /> 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> 3 OF COLTON AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FROM <br /> THE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF THE STATE OF <br /> 4 CALIFORNIA UNDER PUBLIC LIBRARY DEVELOPMENT <br /> ACT AND ALLIED SECTIONS OF THE EDUCATION <br /> 5 CODE. <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the Colton Public Library is not at present meeting minimum <br /> 7 <br /> standards of library service; and <br /> 8 <br /> WHEREAS, estimated population increases indicate that there may be <br /> 9 <br /> about 47,500 people in the City of Colton in 1980 to whom library service will <br /> 10 <br /> 11 need to be given. <br /> 12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br /> 13 Colton, does hereby authorize the making of an Application for an Establishment <br /> 14 Grant from the Public Library Board of the State of California under the provisions <br /> 15 of the Public Library Development Act of 1963, Chapter 1 .5, Division 20 of the <br /> 16 <br /> California Education Code (Sections 27111-27147,)as amended in 1965, in order <br /> 17 <br /> to join and participate in a cooperative library system as indicated in <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Section 2 712 5 c of said Education Code. <br /> 20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Colton, <br /> 21 approves the Plan of Service, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a <br /> 22 part hereof by reference, for cooperation between the Colton Public Library and <br /> 23 the San Bernardino County Free Library as prepared by the Librarian of the <br /> 24 <br /> Colton Public Library and the Librarian of the San Bernardino County Free Library, <br /> 25 <br /> and of minor charges which may be recommended by both librarians . <br /> 26 <br /> 27 PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this. 24th day of September, 1965 . <br /> 28 i.,.s <br /> ayor <br /> 29 <br /> ATTEST: <br /> 30 <br /> 31 _ r <br /> , ( � -,. /' - <br /> Cit `Clerk <br /> 32 <br />
