1 RESOLUTION NO. 2610 <br /> 2 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br /> 3 SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION OF C-AIR INCORPORATED TO THE <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> 4 <br /> 5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE THAT: <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the application of C & W Aviation, a corporation, DBA <br /> 7 C-Air, Inc., to the Public Utilities Commission, State of California, air <br /> 8 carrier between the airports of Long Beach, Riverside, Redlands and Los <br /> 9 Angeles International Airport, is required, and <br /> 101 WHEREAS, many industrial and commercial enterprises located in the <br /> 111 eastern end of the Inland Empire, comprising several cities including the <br /> 12 City of Colton, as well as individuals residing in this area, have frequent <br /> 13 requirements to travel to and from Los Angeles and points beyond, such as <br /> 14 Chicago, Washington D. C. and New York City, and <br /> 15 WHEREAS, surface transportation between the eastern end of the Inland <br /> 16 Empire and Los Angeles International Airport is limited to either very in- <br /> 17 frequent public bus and rail transportation, or a slow traffic-congested <br /> 18 journey by private automobile, and <br /> 19 WHEREAS, the eastern end of the Inland Empire does not have available <br /> 1` <br /> 20 dependable, economical and frequent fixed-wing public air transportation <br /> 21 between the area and Los Angeles International Airport, and <br /> 22 WHEREAS, the existence of frequent and economical air transportation, <br /> 23 which can be depended upon by travelers even under weather conditions re- <br /> 24 quiring instrument flight rules at Los Angeles International Airport, is <br /> 25 considered critically essential to the economic growth of the eastern <br /> 26 portion of the Inland Empire, especially the City of Colton, and <br /> 27 WHEREAS, C-Air has demonstrated the capability to satisfy this need <br /> 28 for frequent economical, and above all, dependable air transportation <br /> 29 between, the area and Los Angeles International Airport, even under weather <br /> 30 conditions which require the use of instrument flight rules, and <br /> 31 WHEREAS, enthusiastic acceptance of this C-Air service to the Inland <br /> 32 Empire area by the public has been demonstrated by a steady and continuous <br />
