streetlight standards, Model 5B1 -29F8, complete with 8ft mast arms and hardware. On January
23, 2006, we received a quote of $1,248.00 each plus applicable sales tax. In order to meet
project requirements, it will be necessary to order seventy of these poles. The price quoted
includes delivery and unloading at the City of Colton Electric Yard.
ALTERNATIVES:
Council may choose not to award a contract until after staff has amended the streetlight standards
and advertised for and received informal bids for the expanded streetlight specification. This
option will cause a delay in providing street lighting to new housing and business developments
currently in progress due to the long lead times.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Marbelite streetlight standards are purchased into Electric Stores inventory account number 520-
1500-154. The streetlight standards are charged to the appropriate budgeted account, as they are
used.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Gift Disclosure Requirements
Ameron Pole Products, Inc.
President: James Marlin
Contact: Mike Everett, Pacific Lighting Sales, Inc.
Staff recommends award of sole source contract for the purchase of Marbelite streetlight
standards to Ameron Pole Products, inc., c/o Pacific Lighting Sales, Inc., in the amount of
$94,130.40.
Report prepared by Rebecca Gallegos, Executive Assistant
REVIEW TEAM ONLY
City
City
Finance
OTHER:
