POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 06, <br />2024. <br />GIFT DISCLOSURES <br />Mayor Navarro asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict of interest <br />pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. <br />AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS <br />Mayor Navarro asked the members present if there were any brief reports on meetings attended at the expense <br />of the City. (GC Section 53232.3(d). None disclosed. <br />APPOINTMENTS <br />None <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />None <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />None <br />BUSINESS ITEMS <br />None <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following community members addressed the Council: John Raggett, James Sandoval, Phil Lopez, Jennifer <br />Sony, Nick Zupkofska, Celeste Carlos (Celeste also submitted to council 330 signatures of residents who signed <br />acknowledging that they are "Opposed to the Crematorium facility"), and Bobbie Forbes. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Mayor Navarro presents the Consent Calendar Items 1 through 21. <br />City Manager, William R. Smith, requested all items be approved with minor corrections to item 413, Intent to <br />Annex No. 2 into CFDs 2021-1 (Public Safety) and 2021-2 (Maintenance). Corrections had to be made to the <br />Resolution numbers, R-80-24 and R-81-24, due to the public hearing date being listed incorrectly and the rate <br />tables needing to be updated. <br />Smith also requested that Council allow staff to give a brief presentation on item #11, Contract Award - SWAG, <br />and item #20, the Weed Abatement Program. <br />Staff Presentation <br />Police Chief, Anthony Vega, gave a brief presentation on Item #I1, the contract award to SWAG. Vega <br />explained that entering into a contract with "Social Work Action Group" (SWAG) would benefit the City of <br />Colton and its unhoused community by offering proven and effective solutions with the goal to ultimately help <br />these individuals exit the streets and transition into permanent housing solutions. <br />August 06, 2024 Regular City Council Meeting 3 _ <br />
