R-76-06 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF ONE APPLICATION FOR THE SAFE <br />ROUTES TO SCHOOLS GRANT PROGRAMS. <br />WHEREAS, the Safe Route to Schools Program provides funds for safety <br />improvements near schools to encourage students to walk or bike to school; <br />WHEREAS, Caltrans solicits Safe Routes to Schools Grant Program projects from <br />local agencies on an annual basis; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton is dedicated to improving the <br />street infrastructure; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO <br />HEREBY RESOLVE authorization for submittal of one Safe Routes to Schools Grant <br />Program Application. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 20th DAY OF JUNE 2006. <br />DEIRDRE H.
