CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />Council Meeting of June 29, 2006 <br />TO: Mayor and Councilmembers <br />FROM: Carolina P. Barrera, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Calling and Giving Notice of a General Municipal Election to be Held, <br />Tuesday, November 7, 2006 and Requesting the County of San Bernardino to <br />Render Specified Services <br />DATE: June 28, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Terms of Office for certain elected City Officials are nearing conclusion. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Under applicable State law, the City of Colton must take steps to call for the election of certain officers <br />of the City and to order a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, <br />which will be consolidated with the General Municipal Election, to elect the following City Officers: <br />1. Mayor, at large, for full-term of four years; <br />2. Three Councilmembers, by District, for full -terms of four years, for Districts 1, 2 and 4. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Cost of the General Municipal Election is estimated at $20,000. This amount has been funded in the <br />City Clerk's Budget, Account No. 100-6010-6010-2401 for Fiscal Year 2006-07. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends City Council approval of the attached resolution calling the election and requesting <br />that the County of San Bernardino render specified services. <br />Att: (1) <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />r <br />City Attorney: Finance Director: <br />City Manager: OTHER: i <br />
