2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />s <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-19-24 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING COLTON MUNICIPAL <br />CODE SECTION 2.12.020 INCREASING CITY <br />TREASURER SALARY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton, California ("City") is a general law city organized <br />and existing under the Constitution and laws of the State of California. <br />WHEREAS, Government Code section 36517 allows the City Council to fix City <br />Treasurer salary by ordinance or resolution. <br />WHEREAS, Colton Municipal Code Section 2.12.020 establishes the salary for the <br />City Treasurer. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to increase the salary for the City Treasurer <br />by amending Colton Municipal Code section 2.12.020. <br />WHEREAS, the proposed salary increase is in compliance with the Government <br />Code. <br />WHEREAS, all other legal prerequisites to the adoption of this Ordinance have <br />occurred. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton, California, does hereby <br />ordain as follows: <br />SECTION 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The Recitals herein are true and correct <br />and an incorporated herein by this reference. <br />SECTION 2. Amendment to Municipal Code. Colton Municipal Code Chapter <br />2.12 Compensation of City Officials —Bonds, Section 2.12.020 City Treasurer is amended <br />to read as follows: <br />"2.12.020 - City Treasurer. <br />The Treasurer of the City shall be paid a salary of four hundred and seven dollars <br />and zero cents ($407.00) per month payable at the time and in the manner that other <br />salaries are paid. The City Council may provide by Resolution for supplemental <br />compensation. <br />SECTION 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after <br />its adoption. <br />SECTION 7. Severability. If any section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph, <br />sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance, or any part thereof, is for any reason held <br />to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion <br />
