AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS - None <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL DISCUSSION ITEMS - None <br />BUSINESS ITEM <br />(1) Electric Rate Workshop <br />Electric Rate PowerPoint was Presented by the Electric Utility Director, Charles Berry, and the <br />Finance Director, Stacey Dabbs. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following community and business members addressed the Council: <br />Andrea Pratt, VP. Government And Utility Relations, spoke on the electric rate proposal(s) and <br />how it would hurt big electric rate power users. <br />All public comments can be reviewed on our Colton City Website (www.coltonca.$tov). <br />COUNCIL AND UTILITIES COMMISSION DISCUSSIONS & QUESTIONS <br />Discernment and discussion between Councilmembers and Commissioners present, with <br />clarification provided by staff: Electric Utility Director Charles Berry, Finance Director Stacey <br />Dabbs, and City Manager William R. Smith. <br />The following was recommended by the City Council to staff: <br />• Power Cost Adjustment Reduced to $.04, currently at $.08 <br />• Reduces revenues by $4.3M through October 2025 <br />• No additional rate action required beyond current recommendations <br />• One-time revenue reduction can be absorbed <br />The above recommendation was supported by the majority of the City Council. <br />The City Council also asked that staff reports and any PowerPoint agenda materials be submitted <br />in a timelier manner for their review, and that any future rate increases be submitted to the City <br />Council for their review. <br />Comments from the Mayor and Council can be reviewed on our Colton City Website <br />(www.coltonca.gov). <br />
