ITEM #12
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 7, 2006
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., P.W. DIRECTOR / CITY ENGINEER
SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN MASTER
AGREEMENT AND ALL OTHER RELATED DOCUMENTS
PERTAINING TO THE SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL GRANT
PROGRAM AT GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
DATE: October 30, 2006
BACKGROUND:
On April 15, 2005, the City of Colton was awarded $242,550 as part of the Safe Route to School
Grant program for improvements around the Grant Elementary School. An Authorization to
Proceed notice for this project was sent by Caltrans to the City on May 12, 2006. The City was sent
a program supplement, approved by the City Council, and returned to Caltrans on July 3, 2006.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The City was not provided a copy of the Master Agreement (Exhibit "A"), for which the Program
Supplement is intended (Exhibit `B"), and therefore has an incomplete record of the project. The
Master Agreement needs to be signed by an authorized City representative to ensure that Caltrans
has a complete record of the project documentation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Authorizing the City Manager to sign the Master Agreement for the Grant Elementary Safe Route to
School grant will not result in any financial impact.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
CEQA clearance has already been obtained and filed with the County of San Bernardino.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
